Cake Pop Stand Ideas

Fill a Tall Jar with Coffee Beans, Rice, or Sugar

Made with items already in your kitchen, this DIY cake pop stand is one of the easiest and most fun options. Fill a tall jar or glass ¾ of the way with rice, coffee beans, sugar, or similar kitchen items. Check your pantry. Dried beans, pie weights, etc. all work well and can add a different decorative touch. You may need to prepare several jars for all 20 cake pops, or you can work in shifts. Start by coating 4-5 cake pops, depending on the size of the jar. After those cake pops harden, remove, and place the finished cake pops in the provided clear bags. Continue with another 4-5 until all 20 are complete. This is also a great way to display your cake pops. Try filling your jar with sprinkles for extra color and fun!

The Underside of a Colander

Your trusty colander could make a great DIY cake pop stand. Just turn it over and place a folded dish towel inside the colander for the tips of the cake pop sticks to rest on. Place the tip of the sticks into each hole for your cake pops to dry. Your colander is now a functional cake pop holder.

A Styrofoam Block from Your Local Art Supply Store

This is a great option if you plan to make cake pops more than once or twice. A Styrofoam block from your local art supply store is not only sturdy but also cheap, typically costing around $5. For multi-use purposes, wrap the Styrofoam in a lightweight paper before beginning. As you prepare your cake pops, chocolate and sprinkles may drip onto the paper-wrapped foam. Once your cake pops are finished, you can unwrap the chocolate and sprinkle covered paper, throw it away, and have a nice, clean block to use next time. For extra ease, before you press the cake pop sticks into the block, puncture 20 tiny holes into the paper with a chopstick, skewer, or tip of a small knife. This will help guide the stick into the Styrofoam without using too much force.
