How to Prepare a Piping Bag: Best Tips

1. Unscrew the outer small ring from the coupler.

2. Slide the large coupler piece into the piping bag with the narrow tip pointing down.

3. Cut the tip of the piping bag tip off just past the end of the coupler.

4. Place the piping tip over the bag and onto the coupler.

5. Hold the tip in place and twist the outer ring on the tip and coupler.

6. Fold the top 1/3 of the bag over to make a cuff.

7. Place one hand inside the cuff. You can also place the bag in a tall glass, with the cuff hanging over the rim.

8. Using a spoon or rubber spatula, place the frosting in the bag. Make sure to only fill it up about 2/3-3/4 full.

9. Once filled, pull the bag out of the cup. Gently add a little pressure to the bag to release any air bubbles that might have snuck in when you were filling it. Push the frosting toward the tip.

10. Carefully twist the opening of the bag around until where the frosting ends. You can hold the twist in place with a rubber band or twist tie.
